Captovate at Share the Point Conference 2013

sharepointEarlier this month Michael and Heather travelled to chilly Melbourne to catch up with old friends and make some new ones at the 4th Annual Australian SharePoint Conference, Share the Point. The conference theme this year was Collaboration, and combined a bunch of cool new technical talks with heaps of user and organisational focussed value for us non tech-heads, all around how we can use Microsoft's intranet and document management system SharePoint to make our working lives and businesses better, happier and more efficient.

We learned and shared stories about both SharePoint 2010 and the uber-cool new edition, SharePoint 2013. Then, of course, there was a huge buzz was all around SharePoint Online and how collaboration and document management in the cloud will change the way small businesses manage their IT, bringing down costs while ramping up functionality in a big way.

We loved the keynote speech from organisational psychologist Dr Neil Preston on The Psychology of Collaborative Maturity, or (to you and me) 'How to get human beings to work better together'. But the really exciting take-home for Captovate was definitely how SharePoint Online is changing the face of intranets for small and medium businesses.

We can't wait to show our small business clients who are grappling with ever-increasing amounts of data, documents, people and processes, all the new options and opportunities for growth that SharePoint Online offers.
