Captovate takes home two Australian Web Awards

Captovate has added more credence to our reputation as ‘Kings of the Web’, taking out an Australian Web Award at a national gala event held in Perth in November, as well as another gong in the East Coast regional finals in Sydney.

The site that got us over the line was local radio station website 104.1 Territory FM, which was named the most outstanding website in the Media category. Six weeks ago, we were ecstatic to pick up a gong in the Australian Web Awards NSW/ NT/ ACT/TAS regional final for the Airnorth website as well. To then take out another award in the national finals is a dream come true for us as a small local team.

The Australian Web Awards are held annually through the Australian Web Industry Association, with the 2010 awards attracting over 300 entries from all states across Australia. Captovate is the first Northern Territory company to take home an award in the prestigious competition.Australian Web Award winner - Airnorth website

The really great thing for us about these awards is that they showcase a local Territory company developing for local Territory clients. It also shows that Captovate is at a level that not only competes with, but wins against the best of the best on a national scale, and we’re pretty proud of that!

Judging for the Australian Web Awards is tough, with many sites not making it through the rigorous coding validation required before a judge even looks at it. Those sites that do pass the tests are then scrutinised by a panel of expert judges from all over Australia in areas including design, functionality, accessibility, information architecture and innovation.

Territory FM General Manager Peter Perrin shared Captovate’s pride in the achievement. “We wanted a site that reflects who we are on air, and that provided interactivity with our listeners. To put it plainly, Captovate got it and continues to get it. They build the site and we add the content, they made it simple. We’re pretty impressed, and we congratulate Michael, Karen, Tuan and the team at Captovate.”

The big wins round off a stellar year of growth and achievement for Captovate, and as always, we're looking forward to even more exciting developments in 2011!
