Emma HEARTS iPhone
I don't know about you but I am increasingly becoming totally dependant on my iPhone?!
This "smart phone revolution" has certainly begun to affect my lifestyle in both positive and potentially negative ways :-/
A self-professed "Apple junkie", I have always been a keen follower of Apple/Macintosh products so when it was time to upgrade my phone it was iPhone all the way!
Like many consumers it did take me a wee while to get on the band wagon of the iPhone but since I joined the ride I am finding it hard to separate myself from it. I have had my precious little phone for about 6 months now and am honestly surprised that the novelty of this device is yet to fade.
I have pimped it with a schmancy gelaskin on the outside and with one of Captovate's specky wallpapers on the inside, I have added all my contacts, and loaded it up with countless apps that:
- wake me up in the morning,
- track my finances,
- show me where my banks are,
- remind me to pay my bills,
- keep me updated on my social networks,
- provide birthday reminders,
- show me what's on tv and what's screening at the cinema,
- tell me when my boyfriend's flight arrives,
- scans and saves documents,
- track my sales on eBay,
- provide shopping specials,
- tell me how to stay fit (not that I listen)
- and of course provide countless hours of gaming entertainment!
By all means I am no aficionado on all things iPhone but I would like to share some of my favourite games with you.
I have an enormous amount of games on my phone so to begin with I will share my:
Top 5 "Bird" Games

Angry Birds RIOWell what a way to make an angry bird angrier! Everyone's favourite 'furious feathered friends' find themselves caged and in Rio. In keeping with the Angry Birds successful series of games, this version sees the usual fleet of angry birds in Rio de Janeiro on a mission to save their caged bird fellows. Teamed with characters and graphics from the movie RIO, this is a great Angry Birds adventure with new levels released monthly throughout 2011. As addictive as it's predecessors, Angry Birds Rio is a fun edition to the Angry Birds franchise that even includes some serious monkey butt-kicking :-) With Angry Birds being one of the most successful smart phone apps it is no surprise ROVIO's latest edition is a hit. Angry Birds have taken over the world with clever cinematic trailers, plush toys and even 3D wall projections, I for one am a HUGE fan and hope to see more and more of these popular birds!

Tiny WingsSimplicity is the key...It's the simple things in life that appeal to me. Based on that theory, I love this game as it is a very simple concept. This little bird has tiny wings and can only fly short distances, but this is a determined wee bird and it spends it's entire day trying to fly. With your help the bird manages to slide up and over rolling hills, flinging him in to short bursts of flight. You control his flight, momentum and speed by touching the screen. All the while racing the sun before the game ends at sunset. The challenge is to get your timing right to control flying and landing. After a few attempts you soon find your 'mojo' and it becomes quite an entertaining little game. This is a great example of how simple interactions and beautiful graphics can create a great user experience - particularly if you are willing to spend time trying to better your last attempt.

Drop The ChickenThis game reminds me of another favourite of mine Cut the Rope. A puzzle based game, Drop The Chicken is one of those games that makes you determined to beat it. The basic challenge is to drop a chicken from the top of the screen down into it's nest. The catch is: you need to position various objects including rubber band like pads, wooden boards, balloons, and fans to get it to it's destination. Along the way there are flies for it to eat as well which will give you a better star rating. With fun graphics, these often difficult puzzles become very entertaining. Getting a perfect score first time will always provide immense satisfaction!

Bird Zapper! This game "had me at hello". Poor Mr Squirrel lives in a telephone pole surrounded by countless birds on wires, squawking neighbours isn't anyone's cup of tea, but Mr Squirrell has a solution - ZAP those pesky birds! Using your finger you trace lines across groups of birds to form like-colored groups of 3 or more. When you lift your finger the birds are zapped and fried! A fun fast paced game, this is again an example of a simple idea providing hours of entertainment. Admittedly there isn't much more to this game but the pace and ease of it makes it one of those must have timeout games.

Penguin AirborneA fun little freebie! We all love a good free game don't we? This is a game of timing. You need to help your penguin parachutist get to the ground safely and in first place. You especially need to avoid coming last otherwise you will have a bomb dropped on you! There are cute penguin voices and sound effects, but other than that there is really not much else to this game but for a freebie it's a fun download.
