Responsive Design – why all the fuss?
It’s the latest buzz word that’s flying around, but what exactly does 'Responsive Design' mean?
It means that regardless of the device you're using, whether it’s a smartphone, tablet or desktop, the website automatically adjusts to the screen size you're viewing it in. You can say that it reacts, adapts and 'responds' to your needs, based on the device you're using.
Responsive design websites allow you to easily read the content on your mobile device by automatically adjusting the presentation of the content so it fits perfectly on the screen; removing the need to pinch and zoom the pages.
With more and more of us using our phones and iPads to access the internet and browse websites, it makes sense to build responsive designed sites. It's really not rocket science; it’s just the way today's web should work for us.
