ALERA
Australian Labour and Employment Relations Association Websites and Branding
Purpose
Alera (Australian Labour and Employment Relations Association) is governed by a National Council made up of representatives from the affiliated States and Territory bodies. The Association aims to bring together representatives of trade unions, employers, Ggovernment, the legal profession and academics and to both organise and foster discussion, research, education and publication within the field of industrial and workplace relations. It was difficult for members to know that there part of a larger association. Alera was formed and in need of a website of its own, along with new websites that reflected the values of the national body.
As each region had its own website and branding, all had their own member-recruitment processes, forms and payment organisation. The project aim was to turn a complex process of bringing different sites together into a common feel, function and look.
Development and Design
Over the course of a year, Captovate developed six websites for Alera: one for the national body, and five for each state and territory member (NT, ACT, Vic, NSW and SA), based around a uniform design. This would ensure brand consistency and recall for unique visitors.
Special Features
This project allowed us to have one installation of Drupal for the Alera National website, with multiple Drupal sites attached to it. All the sites have individual administrators, and all content is dynamically fed to the national site from the state and territory sites.
It was great to work on such a complex project and come out with a suit of websites that our clients love and we're proud of.
